Gloria Garfinkel: Vibrancy of Form
Organized by Katherine Carter & Associates
April 21 – June 18, 2017
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 20, 2017, 5-7 pm, free for members, $5 for non-members
Deeply influenced by Japanese objects, Garfinkel’s work reflects “kando” which stresses the simplicity, elimination of clutter, and a sense of essentialness. Her vision embodies the quality of elegance without showiness or flashiness, and exemplifies a sophistication that is introverted and calm. Optimizing visual play and retinal delight, this extraordinary artist explores dualities between the natural and artificial. This exhibit will showcase approximately 50 works of various mediums, including etchings on paper, painted aluminum, and oil on canvas works.
