LECTURE WITH LONGHUA XU

Join us for a lecture with Arkansas Living Treasure, Longhua Xu! Selected by the Chinese National Arts and Crafts Company in 1971, Xu showcased his work nationally from 1972, including at the Shanghai Art Museum. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1989 under the “Extraordinary Ability” program for greater artistic opportunities. Xu has since created impactful public artworks in stone carving, relief sculpture, and painting. Don’t miss the chance to hear from this influential artist!

Join us for a figure drawing class with artist and educator Amy Holmes Scoggins. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, you’ll benefit from personalized instruction designed to enhance your observational skills and confidence. In this class, you will work with a live, clothed model, explore anatomical resources, and engage in enriching discussions to deepen your understanding.

Join us for a two-night oil painting workshop on still life. Students will learn to capture reflective surfaces like glass and metal, mastering light, shadow, and color shifts. With guided instruction and demonstrations from artist Stephanie Lee, this workshop suits both beginners and experienced painters.

Guided by a trained gallery educator, tours include our 5 galleries and information about the techniques and processes of multiple artists.
GROUP TOURS
Tours for both students and adults (or school field trips!) will be led by trained gallery educators for a 60–90 minute museum experience. The first half will be spent touring the galleries and the second half will be spent in our studio with a craft or project.
